Bespoke Hotel Lighting Guide: Lobby, Ballroom and Restaurant Chandeliers
In a hotel, the lobby chandelier often shapes the guest's first impression.

Chandeliers in the lobby, ballroom, restaurant and corridors directly affect a hotel's concept, light quality and brand image. In this guide, Yön Avize, a custom chandelier manufacturer making bespoke hotel lighting since 2013, explains step by step how chandeliers are planned in architectural lighting for hospitality projects.
1. Start with the space and the ceiling
A hotel chandelier is chosen from the space, not from a catalogue. Ceiling height, the ceiling structure, the size of the room, stairwells and galleries are considered together. That is why we start a hotel project from the architect's or interior designer's plans, sections, renders or photos of the space, and survey the site when needed.
2. Lobby and atrium chandeliers
Double-height lobbies, atriums and stairwells are the most photographed areas of a hotel. They usually call for one strong statement crystal chandelier or a spiral crystal composition that flows through the full height. The spiral crystal chandelier we made for the stairwell of Çaykent Of Hotel is one example. For very tall volumes we can produce chandeliers up to about 12 metres tall.
3. Ballrooms and wedding halls
In large ballrooms with high ceilings, light must spread evenly across the room. Multi-tier crystal chandeliers, flush-mount ceiling pieces and layouts built from several chandeliers of the same family work well here. The crystal ceiling chandeliers for Samsun Deluxe Wedding Hall are a project of this type.
4. Restaurants, bars and lounges
Restaurants and lounges need warmer, lower light focused on the tables. Modern LED ring chandeliers and pendant compositions at different heights suit these spaces. Light colour and brightness are set according to how the space is used through the day.
5. Corridors, suites and reception
Consistency matters in hotel lighting. The design language of the lobby continues in reception, corridors and suites with smaller matching pieces, so guests feel one lighting concept as they move through the hotel.
6. Materials and light
Hotel chandeliers run every day for many years, so we build their frames from brass or stainless steel. Crystal type, frame finish, LED and light colour are chosen to match the interior concept, and easy cleaning and maintenance are planned at the design stage.
7. 3D approval, production and installation
Diameter, tiers, finish, crystal type and light colour are finalised in a 3D drawing and sent for approval. After approval, production takes place in our own workshop in Tekkeköy, Samsun. Parts are numbered, protected, packed and shipped within Turkey and abroad, and our own team installs them. After installation we provide technical support and spare parts.
Hospitality references
We have made crystal chandeliers for the public areas of Wyndham Batumi Hotel (Georgia), crystal chandeliers for the lobby and reception of Kavak Liva Hotel (Samsun), a spiral crystal chandelier for the stairwell of Çaykent Of Hotel and crystal ceiling chandeliers for Samsun Deluxe Wedding Hall. Besides Turkey, we have completed projects in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Algeria, Belgium and Georgia.
Frequently asked questions
What do you need to quote a hotel chandelier? A plan or the dimensions of the space, the ceiling height, and interior renders or photos.
Do you work on hotel projects outside Turkey? Yes. We work from drawings, build the chandelier in parts suited to shipping and install it on site. We communicate in English, Arabic and Turkish.
How long does production take? It depends on the size and number of chandeliers; a firm schedule is shared after the 3D design is approved.
